About this tour
Denis O'Connor has guided visitors around Kerry for more than 20 years, and this private Ring of Kerry day is built around a set loop that he adjusts to each party's interests. The air-conditioned car carries up to three people, so it suits couples or a small family who want the drive to themselves.
The circuit runs through farmland and along the Atlantic coast, with visits to stone forts and castles, Valentia Island's lighthouse and transatlantic cable station, and the fishing village of Portmagee, a natural lunch stop. The Kerry Cliffs give views of the Skellig Islands and their seabirds, and on the return you see the Lakes of Killarney from Ladies View and stop at Torc Waterfall.
Depending on the day, the route may also include Kerry Bog Village, a sheepdog demonstration at Kells or the Skellig Experience Centre. Many sites are free, though some charge a small entry fee. Lunch is not included, and pickup is from your hotel.
