About this tour
Touristy Ireland collects you from anywhere in Dublin for a private guided day in County Wicklow, about 30 minutes south of the city. The price covers the vehicle, and the route can be changed at any point, so it suits families and small groups who want to set their own pace.
A sample day follows the coast to Wicklow Gaol, with actor-led tours on the 1798 Rebellion and a genealogy room, then lunch or shopping at Avoca Handweavers. Next is Glendalough, St Kevin's 6th-century monastic city with its round tower, and, time allowing, the 47-acre gardens of the Powerscourt Estate.
Other options include Sally Gap, Lough Tay, Powerscourt Waterfall, the Military Road or a traditional pub. Entrance fees (roughly €7–10 per adult at each site) and lunch are not included.
