About this tour
Deros Coach Tours runs this guided coach day from its office on Main Street in Killarney out to the Dingle Peninsula, an Irish-speaking Gaeltacht area known for its rugged Atlantic coastline. Your driver-guide gives live commentary along the way, so you can sit back and watch the scenery.
The first stop is Inch Beach, where you can stretch your legs on miles of sand and grab a tea or coffee at the beachfront café. Out on the cliffs of Slea Head there's a visit to a family farm with ancient stone beehive huts and the chance to hold a lamb (this stop has its own charge).
The Slea Head Drive is the centrepiece of the day, with views towards the Blasket Islands from one of the most westerly points in Europe, and countryside where Ryan's Daughter and Far and Away were filmed. You also get about an hour and a half in Dingle town for lunch and a wander around the harbour.
Plan to be at the office by 10:15am. Food isn't included, and the return time to Killarney is an estimate, so leave some slack if you have a train or flight afterwards.
